Day 5: Cambridge, Part 1

After a delicious breakfast overlooking the English countryside this morning in Tring (I had a delicious, authentic English muffin th strawberry jam), we boarded the train for Cambridge.
Beautiful King's Cross Station in London (where we switched train lines)

Upon arriving in Cambridge and checking in, we ate a pretty typical pub lunch (for me, a goat's cheese and bruschetta wrap) and then headed for the Cambridge Botanical Gardens, where we did our first lab study. In one section of the gardens, plants are grouped according to genus and/or family. We had to observe the characteristics of the plants in each group and see what traits they had that categorized them in the same grouping. Then, we compared these traits to plants in other families to see if they shared or lacked any of them. Here are a few of the beautiful flowers I studied:

After our study, we walked the huge complex!

The whole group :)

We split off into small groups for dinner, and I had a typical veggie burger and fries. The best part, though, was the bottomless frozen yogurt for dessert that the three of us shared!! (Mango flavor. Mmmmmm.....)
