The First Day!

The day started out like this at London-Heathrow:
(10 am London time, after only getting 30 minutes of shut eye on the plane-I was too excited!)

By the time we had collected everyone though, we didn't have enough time to go to the Natural History Museum today, so we are hoping to squeeze it in tomorrow!
Instead, we took the underground to our hotel, The Montana and checked in.

After freshening up, we decided to explore the area we were staying in! The neighborhood is aptly named "The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea"

The architecture of this area is incredible!

We even saw a few things iconic to London:

And to top it all off, we finished with an authentic Indian dinner with our professor, Dr. Swanson. I tried the vegetable curry!

PS-A few lessons learned today: in Britain, you walk on the left side of the sidewalk (or the airport terminal...), not the right. Also, remembering to learn to look to the right first (instead of the left) when you cross the road is definitely a hard habit to break!
